Beyers Chocolates was founded in 1987 by Kees Beyers, a Belgian born confectioner. He identified a gap in the South African market for high quality confectionery that could compare to European products, and so he immigrated, bringing his native chocolatier training and trusted Belgian recipes to South Africa.
Beyers Chocolates is a family business, with a passion for making
high-quality confectionery. The majority of their products are handcrafted.
Beyers Chocolates is committed to food safety and product quality. This
commitment is evident through the implementation of HACCP (Hazard
Analysis Critical Control Points) based food safety programmes, in line
with internationally recognised Codex Guidelines. The company has also
been BRC “A” Grade approved since 2009. An independent, third party
auditor assesses their food safety system on a regular basis, to ensure
that they provide a safe product to their customers.
